The DNA test for Glaucoma came available 2018
so we are in the process all breeding stock our first 10 tests have come back
and we have been very surprised as our foundation stock originally had the
original eye test and came back clear but the new test has reviled that
our foundation bitch Lillie is a carrier and her daughter have the one of the
gene so they are carriers this is something we can work with going forward with
the breeding program as by using clear stud dogs we can avoid Affected G/G . I
have 5 more Tests to do and this is with our young stock and I will do this at
the end of august. Like with TNS CL and Cea many years ago when the DNA test
came available we manage to breed it out and none of my stock Carrie it so we
can do the same with the glaucoma.
The last five have been done 3 N/N 2 N/G carriers so i have done a total of 17 dogs 1G/G affected 6 N/N clear and 6 N/G carrier
